I first did a review on Jonathan from Acylogy back in November 2022. Fast forward exactly two years later (November 2024), he has expanded and now he (together with one more business partner) has an establishment of his own at Sunway Mas with convenient parking and eateries. https://acylogy.wordpress.com/currentpromotion/

When I stepped into his outlet, the first thing that came to my mind was, “I am glad that it doesn’t look like another spa”. After so many reviews that I have done, perhaps I am getting a bit jaded hence if you notice, there is not much review that I do off late as well. But his outlet is in the contrary and the ambiance is very homely, comfortable and stylishly designed. It is not big but yet it serve it purpose. The coziness of the space and the practicality of each and every piece of item / furniture placed also offer a sense of groundedness once you are seated at the lobby area.

Incidentally, the lobby area (beside the treatment room), is also his main place where he conduct his workshops; from hobby classes to professional certification courses. Hobby classes include skin care, body care, making aromatherapy balm etc. Meanwhile the professional certificate is awarded by Asia e University and its syllables are designed based on NOSS to help graduates to obtain SKM Tahap 3 Certificate in Aromatherapy. He personally also coach on the process to obtain this mentioned certificate.

Today, I tried his Balinese massage and it didn’t disappoint. In fact, from the last time I met him, I felt his skill has been upgraded. His strokes, his flow, his techniques, I have nothing to complaint about. On top of that, just like the first session, what I find unique about his treatment is him tailor made the massage oil on the spot according to the client needs. This is what a real aromatherapy massage should be like (not those outlet where you only choose from a couple of premix choice). For this particular session, after initial assessment, he mixed juniper berry, cypress, lavender, bergamot and frankincense.

Plus this time round, there is also another unique factor, the tea! Even the tea now is customizable. He has 6 different type for me to choose. But I left it to him and he chose chrysanthemum, lavender and rose mixture tea for me.

Among the other type of massage modalities that he offered (beside Balinese which is soothing and has a sensual experience):
Aromatherapy Massage: good for sleep related issues and stress management
Swedish / Thai Massage: incorporating Thai palm press and Swedish technique which is good especially for back muscle tightness.
Guasha Massage: mixture of therapeutic massage and back Guasha for detox and enhancing the functions of internal organs
The pricing for all his services are affordable and reasonable especially with the ambiance and the oil that he uses.

If I have a constructive feedback to give, I feel that this establishment deserve a specially curated music by both the business partner instead of the typical spa music that loops endlessly. It will certainly boost the experience of the user further. All the best to Jonathan! https://www.facebook.com/acylogy
